The objective of Little Kickers classes is to provide children with an entertaining opportunity to develop sporting skills, social and life skills through participating in games that encourage learning through the natural affinity of play. The children are encouraged to play games and use their imaginations, whilst running around and having lots of fun. The vast majority of participants will not be aware that they are actively learning key skills as they get involved in the classes, and it has been proven in numerous studies (Fromberg & Gullo [1992], Frost [1992], Rogers & Sawyer [1988]), that children learn most effectively through active play. The Little Kickers programme has been developed by professionals from a number of fields and, in addition to engaging children through fun and creative play, it also promotes the development of a wide range of early learning skills.
